Spring Hand housing is different. The trees have grown to make houses for the residents and are still very much alive. The houses appear inside the trees. Staircases spiral around and lead to an average of five more stories but it is common to have as many as 10 stories. Each story has one room with the bedrooms and bathroom having doors with the option to keep going up without opening a door or going into a room. Each house has a kitchen and a minimum of one bathroom. Bedrooms range from 1 to 3 and living rooms and dining rooms are also common. Other excess rooms can be turned into bedrooms or changed into study rooms or whatever by option. All furniture is grown from the tree itself as well. Water comes from the ground, taken up by roots. The baths are fed by these water roots and the showers are also fed by the water roots by pushing a lever up. The kitchen sink also operates on a lever. All water is lukewarm as it stays ground temperature. There is a fireplace for cooking food and heating the inside. There is a small exhaust escape for the smoke and the inside of the fireplace and this 'exhaust escape' is made of hardened, non-flammable wood. Windows are common.
